“We are all evil in some form or another are we not?” is the mantra behind one of our fav Australian brand Daisy‘s new collection ‘Heavenly Bodies,’ which will sell at Shop Small by American Express. We sat down with the creative minds behind Daisy and found out what we can expect from the brand at MADE LA, who their biggest influences are, and the importance of patience in the fashion industry.

Describe your MADE LA popup in one sentence.
Sex, fetish, history and mindfulness–welcome to the world of DAISY.
How did you get into the industry?
We met 11 years ago and have been together ever since. Gibson is a photographer and I was working as a stylist/editor when we fell into DAISY, it was a bit of a creative holiday from the work we’d been doing for other people. We wanted to start something we felt was a pure iteration of us.
If you weren’t a creative what would you be doing?
Teaching pilates! I was trained as an instructor and we have a home pilates studio. Obsessed. Gibson would be passed out on a couch somewhere or following Guns’n’Roses around the world.
If you could dress anyone who would it be?
1991 Juliette Lewis.
Who or what are you fascinated with right now?
Cult serial killers are the inspiration behind our latest release ‘Heavenly Bodies’ –we’re really into Richard Ramirez’s poetry, fan fiction and biopics.

What’s the next big thing coming up for you?
Our first show at NYFW this September.
What advice would you give to young designers?
Go easy on yourself. Be patient and don’t feel pressured to get everything right on the first try. The world of fashion and the internet is so fast paced, it can be nice to space out in your bubble and do things in your own time.
