Ille of The Pop Manifesto brings the first installment of her monthly series of curated music.
In MADE’s premiere installment of our “Shuffle” residency, LA-based music selector Ilirjana Alushaj has hand-selected her picks for your listening pleasure. This carefully curated list is sure to bring the fire to your speakers, so stay close and watch out for Ille’s monthly tunes.
“Ilirjana Alushaj is an all-round talent originally from Australia and now in living L.A. via New York. They’re lucky to have her. Originally on the musical map with her band Apache Beat, these days you’re likely to find her working closely with the likes of Puff Daddy and record producer Hit-Boy, writing TV shows, DJing and running her own publication and label, The Pop Manifesto. Like Ilirjana herself, her mix is a good time with impeccable taste and a smart sense of humour. Press play and feel feelings.” — i-D Online
Sepalcure – Music 4 All
Been waiting a while for new Sepalcure to drop and this 12” definitely was worth it. This B-side is my favorite with a UK-style house track and big bass production.
Missy Elliot – WTF (Where They From) feat. Pharrell
Really glad the girl is back. The track is basically Missy Elliot destroying over a super simple bass beat and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Jamie xx – Loud Places feat. Romy (John Talbot’s Higher Dub)
If I ever felt like I needed a hear a good vibe, Talbot’s second dub release for ‘Loud Places’ would be the one. I already loved the original and the first mix, but this one proves to be the chillest banger.
Chairlift – Romeo
Caroline’s voice always is able to make me happy and together with the single’s left-field pop production, ‘Romeo’ feels like magic.
Floating Points – Nespole
Such a great album and this track is beautiful in how it feels somewhat sparse and full. Something very special about it and can listen to it all day long.
