MADE is continuing its discovery of new fashion design talent in a series called MADE U LOOK, by featuring collection lookbooks from designers.
Brooklyn based babe Kelsey Fairhurst launched her first line of accessories, a collection of turbans with a focus on textiles and physical construction. Each turban is designed with a unique wire system to be tied and styled in such a way that expresses the unique personality and energy of the individual.For Spring 2017, the 100% handcrafted in Brooklyn turbans are exclusively sold on Opening Ceremony.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Prior to her debut as an accessories designer, Fairhurst made her way to New York to pursue a career in Graphic Design for the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), a position she still holds today. In her tenure at the organization, Fairhurst has produced multiple large scale campaigns for the CFDA’s tentpole initiatives such as New York Fashion Week, CFDA Fashion Awards and the CFDA/ Vogue Fashion Fund.As a multifaceted creative, Fairhurst draws on multiple channels of inspiration to express a core idea, wielding on her expertise in visual communication to express ideas across the mediums of fashion design, graphic design, illustration and art direction. With that much talent under her belt, there is no surprise that she has also collaborated with some of the biggest media players and partners in the industry, such as Vogue Magazine, New York Times, Women’s Wear Daily, and Paper Magazine to name a few.
