You study Art History – If you could pose for any artist, living or dead, who would it be?
I would love to have my portrait painted by Balthus. He is one of my all-time favourites. The balance he creates between innocence and eroticism is something I constantly think about.
If you could chose a name for yourself, other than Kate, what would it be?
What is your dream occupation?
If you could live in one outfit or ‘uniform’ forever – what would it be?
What are your favorite books/magazines/websites to read?
I like to read a bit of Joan Didion in the morning before my Non-Fiction Writing Class and a bit of Anais Nin in the evening before I shut my eyes.
Who inspires you?
Girls in music – Nico, Francoise Hardy, and Astrud Gilberto right now. Girls in films – lately Jane Birkin in Slogan, Adrienne Larussa in Psychout for Murder, and always Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby.
Where is your favourite place in the world?
My boyfriend’s arms.
What five people (real, fictional, living or dead) would you invite to your dream dinner party?
I’d like to have a candlelit dinner on a gingham blanket with Serge Gainsbourg in Le Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil, an amazing greenhouse in Paris, in the middle of the night. When I was living in Paris while studying at Sorbonne, I visited his grave at Montparnasse Cemetery all the time. I brought him flowers and gave him bits of my sandwiches and left him little love notes. It’d be nice to feed him grapes and giggle.
How do you relax?
Yoga on Saint Marks Street now and then. Mainly I lay in bed, focus on my breathing, and remember how lucky I am to be here now.
Who is your secret crush?
It’s a secret.
What brand or fashion label would you love to collaborate with?
You are working on a record of cover songs – who would be in your dream band?
Just me, Lou Reed, and Jai Paul. Young Thug can produce it.
Between showcasing emotions and body issues – do you set out to show your ‘real’ side on social media as opposed to a filtered, edited version of your life?
No matter what, an online presence will always be a filtered and edited version of a person. It is impossible to be fully present and true online. I’m a very private person, so I tend to keep a lot up to the imagination.
Weirdest comment you ever received on Instagram?
“You make everybody else look like eggs”
What are your favorite Instagram accounts?
Describe your Instagram feed in three words?
Me, but not.
Why did your previous Instagram page get deleted?
I posted photos of myself walking around the city legally topless.
