LA’s latest designer.
As the former designer behind Reformation, Los Angeles-based Lara Pia Arrobio isn’t going in blind with her new label LPA. Pia dishes to MADE about her silk obsession and gushes over her favorite piece from the collection. Prices range from $58 to $1,300, so there’s a little something for everyone. Peep snaps from photographer Anthony Cabero in his editorial shoot for LPA.
What inspired you to start your new label LPA?
I feel like everything looks the same. In the early 2000’s there were so many cool, interesting brands and boutiques – fashion felt exciting and shopping was an experience. I’d like to give that same intimate feeling through my brand, and most importantly, the clothes. But ultimately the goal is to see a bunch of confident girls strutting around in LPA.
First thing you do when you wake up?
Read Daily Mail, chug B12.
Silk or suede?

Describe the LPA muse.
She’s a girl who walks down the street and you think to yourself, “Who the fuck is that?”
What are you wearing right now?
Workout clothes and don’t give me shit about it because I live in LA and that’s ok here.
Favorite piece from the collection?
Embroidered and studded leather jacket and the flame hoodie.
Where do you feel more inspired: New York or L.A?
If you could only work with one color and one material for you next collection, what would it be?
Typical weekend plans?
Friday I chill, Saturday night I rage, and Sunday I go to my parents to eat and sleep and eat.
Words of wisdom for leaving the comfort of an established brand and starting your own?
Trust your gut, don’t follow the rules, and do not look at anything else anyone else is doing.
