Finding our inner goddess at Faith Connexion’s Sydney premiere.
Faith Connexion is the French label created by a collective of designers and street artists and helmed by Christophe Decarnin, previously of Balmain. British punk vibes are loud and clear in Faith Connexion’s custom graffiti work on leather and worn-in denim, while an homage to New Romanticism is palpable in the collection’s metallics, frills and military jackets. Subtly glamorous but in no way subtle, Faith Connexion conveys the offhanded chicness indigenous to its Parisians roots, appropriately swathing the likes of Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and Rihanna.
With a label taking such an inspired approach to design and so heavily influenced by youth subculture, it’s no surprise they’re going against the grain for their debut fashion show in November. The French house is heading down under, where despite its isolation is currently experiencing one of the freshest fashion and art scenes in the world. Faith Connexion, along with MADE Sydney, are re-creating the now demolished San Fran skate mecca Hubba Hideout. MADE Sydney’s Hubba Hideout will be the home to Faith Connexion’s headliner show, and it will also be open to skaters over the course of the three day event.
