MADE’s Ultimate Survival guide.
All those seasons of Bear Grylls’ “Ultimate Survival” might have prepared you for surviving in the barren deserts or savage lands, but nothing is as savage as our very own concrete jungle during New York Fashion Week. Don’t worry though, we got you covered. Follow these easy steps on how to navigate this hectic time and you might actually survive to tell the tale of Fashion Week. If not, just scroll through our Instagram and you’ll get a full recap of NYFW 2017.
1. Know what time it is
Unfortunately, the concept of ‘fashionably late’ doesn’t really apply to Fashion Week. Being late will not only cut your time to strut at venues in your cutest outfits to get snapped by street style photographers, but it will also make you miss the show all together. They go by so fast. Here’s the full NYFW schedule, just in case you need a reminder of dates & times or want to sneak into some shows sans invitation. We have a few recommendations for shows you shouldn’t miss (Peep Step 2)!
2. Watch out for these designers
Beau•fille, [bo-fee] Noun / 1. Effortlessly chic Canadian ready-to-wear and accessory line founded by babes/sisters Chloé and Parris Gordon. Actual dictionary definition.
Blondes have more fun, that’s a scientific fact. The Blonds have even more fun, just look at their collections!
Brock Collection is an all around classy act!
Chromat makes sexy, edgy, comfy pieces for women of all shapes and sizes!
Adam Selman brings back slinky metal goodness.
3. Drink your liquids
We can’t recommend this enough! Water, Kombucha, mimosas, coffee, vodka, whatever gets you through the day. Just have lots of it!
4. Mix and Match
Are there any rules in fashion anymore? Not really. Mix patterns, match colors, layer up, and just do you. If you still need some divine inspiration, check out MADE’s Fashion Week Horoscope by our lovely Mi Gerer for some style inspo.
5. Take hella selfies
Seriously! You need photo documentation of everything that went down during NYFW.
5. Stay informed
We’re going full FBI Obama on this New York Fashion Week so the best way to sneak the cheekiest peeks at runway shows & co. is to follow MADE on Instagram, Snapchat (@madeofficial), Twitter & FB. It’s really that easy.
