Until February 24th
Los Angeles musician and producer Groundislava just released ‘Until Tomorrow’, an ambient, down-tempo track featuring angelic vocals from singer/actor/babe Jack Weary. The new single has already been highlighted on Pharell Williams’ Beats1 Radio show and serves as a teaser for Groundislava’s new album ‘Endless Voyage’ set to release this Friday, February 24th on WEDIDIT.
The inspiration for ‘Endless Voyage’ came after a series of lucid dreams the artist experienced last year:”I have always had vivid and often intense dreams. These are rarely dreams with cohesive or linear stories; however, within these dreams I often find myself faced with sequences of images and moments that overwhelm me with a sense of indescribable significance. It was in this process of experiencing lucid dreams for the first time that I began to grasp how surreal and absurd, how beautiful and terrifying dreams could be – how you could be experiencing something so meaningful and meaningless simultaneously, in some place you’ve never been, with no idea where you are or why you’re there, only to be in a completely different place an instant later.Yet somehow in the moment it makes sense – on ‘Endless Voyage’ I drew inspiration from that phenomenon.” The state of in between that Groundislava describes in his dreams translates perfectly to his music and new album: “Each track is different in terms of genre, yet there is an intangible thread that gently ties the album together into a cohesive thought. I’ve always worked freely in terms of genre, never having limited my process to one tempo or style, and I think this sort of variety is most fully realized on this release.”
